There is no application fee, and candidates from around the world are eligible to apply for the WIPO Young Experts Program. This two-year competitive program allows young professionals to gain hands-on experience in the Field of Intellectual Property (IP) and various other WIPO projects.

Objectives of the Program
- Exposure to both technical and strategic aspects of IP.
- Understand the rules that protect new inventions, artistic works, brand names, and designs, things as patents, copyrights, and trademarks.
- The aim is to help young people understand how IP works and why it’s important for innovation.
- Build Leadership skills and make networks.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates from around the world can apply.
- Age: Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
- Availability: Be available to commit to the full 24-month program, starting in 2026.
- Education: Hold a university degree.
- Experience: Have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- IP Knowledge: Possess knowledge or experience related to Intellectual Property (IP), innovation, or creativity.
Timeline
- Initial screening Tests: End of August 2024
- Online Interview: September to October 2025
- Selection: November 2025
- Onboarding: December 2025 and January 2026
- Program Start: 1 February 2026
Program Location
Successful candidates are required to work at the WIPO’s headquarters. The program will start on February 1, 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland.
