The American University of Beirut Mastercard Scholarship aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, a laptop, travel costs, and monthly stipends.

Applications for the 2025 AUB Mastercard Scholarship are now open.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides full scholarships for 2025/26 PhD Admission in partnership with the American University of Beirut (AUB).

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program ​aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degrees.

The Scholars Program is more than just a scholarship. It offers mentoring, leadership skills development, tutoring, internship opportunities, and career services in addition to covering tuition and basic living expenses.

American University of Beirut Mastercard Scholarship Requirements:

To be considered for the American University of Beirut Mastercard Scholarship, you must:

• Applicants must be citizens of or refugees living on the African continent.
• Good academic standing in the previous degree
• Talent that exceeds financial resources
• Commitment to giving back to the community, country, and region
• Have strong leadership skills
• Commitment to attend all the additional learning experiences and workshops required by the Scholars Program
• Be 35 years or younger
• Demonstration of Readiness for University Studies in English (RUSE).

​Tests that you can submit: TOEFL IBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), or DUOLINGO English Test (DET).​

AUB Mastercard Scholarship 2026 Duration and Reward

• Full Scholarship covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses, laptop, books, travel, visa, and medical insurance.
• Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degrees.

How To Apply for 2025/26 AUB Mastercard Scholarship (Step by Step)

To apply for the AUB Mastercard Scholarship, interested applicants should:

• ​Step​1: Complete an AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by the deadline.
• Step ​2: Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the Financial Opportunities section of the online graduate application. 
• Step 3: Complete the AUB Financial Aid Application, which will be accessible, within 1-3 working days, after you ​submit your Graduate Admission Application.
• You will receive, within 1-3 days, an automated email from the financ​ial aid office informing you of your access rights once the financial aid application has been activated.​

IMPORTANT NOTE: For an application to be considered complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application, (2) the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program survey, and (3) submit RUSE scores.
