Details of World Bank Young Professionals Program
The World Bank and IFC have merged their respective Young Professionals Programs into one World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP).
The program now recruits on behalf of three institutions (the World Bank, IFC and MIGA). Building on the rich legacy of its predecessor programs, the WBG YPP aims to develop future leaders to collaborate effectively across our institutions on joint WBG solutions to development challenges.
Young Professionals are recruited from around the world, with preference to nationals of WBG member countries and countries of operations. We encourage all qualified individuals from diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply.
World Bank Group Young Professionals Program Requirements
To be considered for the World Bank Group Young Professionals Program, applicants must:
- Have a minimum of a master’s degree with 2 – 6 years of professional working experience.
- Be a National of a World Bank Group member country as demonstrated by your officially issued passport or equivalent document.Â
- Show the completion of a masters-level degree or equivalent in a relevant field, or a higher qualification in a relevant field, before September 1, 2026.
- If you are pursuing a doctorate, full-time doctoral research studies in a relevant field at an accredited institution may count towards the required work experience, and the degree must be substantially complete with all the written work submitted before September 1, 2026.Â
- Demonstrate an excellent command of spoken and written English language (fluency in other languages might be advantageous to your application).Â
- Not be a World Bank Group staff member nor be precluded from applying or joining the program by the employment eligibility policy from the time of application to the Young Professionals Program.Â
- Not hold an ET or ST contract in the Bank. Â
- You may apply this year if you are a JPA or a former Bank intern (interns should have their appointment end date on or before September 30, 2025).
