The 2025 UNIDIR Outer Space Security Conference Youth Video Competition is now accepting submissions. Scheduled for 9–10 September in Geneva, Switzerland—and accessible online—the Outer Space Security Conference (#OS25) is UNIDIR’s annual flagship event that brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including diplomats, technical specialists, military representatives, industry leaders, and scholars.
The conference addresses the rapidly evolving space security landscape and fosters dialogue on global strategies.
This year’s competition is designed to:
- Empower young people to contribute to the development of inclusive frameworks for space governance.
- Deepen youth involvement in international conversations on outer space security.
- Highlight original and diverse viewpoints on safeguarding space for future generations.
UNIDIR invites global participants aged 18 to 25 to create and submit a 1–3-minute original video based on the designated theme.
Imagine the year is 2050. You are actively involved in outer space security—perhaps as a treaty negotiator, a space traffic regulator, a policy strategist, an infrastructure compliance officer, or in another key role. What pressing issue are you encountering, and what steps are you taking to address it?
Don’t miss out on the application deadline which is 18 July 2025.
