
The Global COACH (Community Organizing and Advocacy for Climate and Health) Scholars Program is a transformative, fully funded educational experience designed to equip health professionals and their community partners with the tools to lead climate and health advocacy efforts globally.
Hosted by the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University and supported by organizations such as the Global Climate and Health Alliance and Health Care Without Harm, this program empowers participants to advance climate solutions rooted in health equity, grassroots organizing, and systemic change.
Program Overview
Selected scholars will begin their journey with a week-long in-person immersion from March 28 to April 3, 2026, at Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies in Nafplio, Greece, preceded by community-building activities in Athens. The experience continues with monthly online Zoom sessions through October 2026, focusing on practical tools for climate advocacy and community organizing.
All travel costs, accommodation, meals, and ground transport in Greece are covered. Support is also available for visa applications, including travel to consulates.

Eligibility Criteria
- The program is open to health professionals worldwide—including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, and others providing direct patient care—as well as community partners such as public health professionals, nonprofit leaders, and environmental justice advocates.
- Applicants must apply as a group of three individuals already working together on climate initiatives. Groups can consist of:
- Three health professionals, or
- Two health professionals and one community partner
- This structure promotes sustained impact by enhancing institutional collaboration and cross-sector leadership on climate and health.
