An Associate Program Officer II is urgently needed at the Internet Society Foundation. It is a fully remote position.

The Internet Society Foundation is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Program Officer II to join its global, remote team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful programs that leverage the Internet as a force for good in society. The selected candidate will support the Strengthening Communities/Improving Lives and Livelihoods (SCILLS) grant program and play a key role in managing the end-to-end grantmaking process.

Role Overview

The Associate Program Officer II will report to the Program Officer and collaborate across multiple departments, including Programs, Operations, and ISOC teams. This role involves managing programmatic and administrative processes for grants from application intake through review, reporting, and impact evaluation. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and experienced in customer-facing roles, preferably within grantmaking organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all communications related to SCILLS program milestones and grant cycles.
  • Review grant applications for completeness and compliance with program requirements.
  • Provide application guidance and technical support for grantees using the Foundation’s online grant platform.
  • Manage the internal and external review process of applications, including assigning reviewers and summarizing feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of grants and communications in the grants management system.
  • Facilitate grantee onboarding and reporting, ensuring timely submission and processing of documents and payments.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to share grantee success stories and program impacts.
  • Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to assess program effectiveness.
  • Support grantee site visits, check-in calls, and compliance monitoring.
  • Liaise with interpreters and translators to support multilingual communication when required.
  • Provide informal support and training to team members and assist during team absences or peak times.
  • Recommend and implement program launch plans and other operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a grantmaking organization or non-profit.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, multicultural, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or French is desirable.
  • Proven track record of solving cross-team challenges and improving operational processes.
  • High digital fluency, including use of Microsoft Office and collaborative platforms. Experience with grant management systems such as Fluxx is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort in preparing and delivering presentations.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate across time zones.

Work Environment and Supervision

This is a fully remote role with no supervisory responsibilities. In the event of an extended absence, responsibilities will be managed by the Program Officer.
