Baker

Baking & Product Preparation
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including muffins, cakes, pastries, cookies, scones, croissants, bread, and special café items.
- Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency and quality.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately using scales, mixers, and other equipment.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with glazes, icings, and toppings.
Menu Development
- Collaborate with the Café Manager to develop new seasonal or signature baked items.
- Suggest improvements or cost-effective alternatives for popular baked goods.
Inventory & Ordering
- Monitor baking ingredient levels and report when stock is low.
- Assist in ordering supplies such as flour, butter, yeast, eggs, and chocolate.
- Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practice is followed for all perishables.
Quality Control
- Check freshness of ingredients and finished products.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, taste, texture, and presentation.
- Conduct daily tastings of key items for quality assurance.
Cleanliness & Kitchen Hygiene
- Keep baking station, tools, and ovens clean and organized.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of all bakery items.
Time Management & Scheduling
- Start baking early to ensure items are ready before café opening.
- Prioritize items based on the café’s service flow and special orders.
