Responsibilities
- Instruct students about the structure and content of the English Language.
- Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar, and sentence construction.
- Teach students to think critically when studying literature and poetry.
- Teach students the correct pronunciation of words.
- Plan and prepare lesson plans that meet core objectives and principles that are in line with curriculum goals.
- Deliver lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Develop students’ verbal skills including reading out loud, discussion, and debate.
- Develop students’ writing skills.
- Monitor performance and progress and modify instructional methods to meet individual needs where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and complete students records including attendance, grades, assessments and test scores.
Requirements
- B.A / B. Ed / PGDE English Language or related course
- Proven experience as an English Teacher
- Must be competent in teaching SAT and IGCSE
- Knowledge of teaching styles is recommended
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
