Purpose Statement

  • We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Head of Sales – Retail to become a vital part of our dynamic sales team. In the role, your primary responsibility will be to own retail credit disbursement end-to-end. From getting into the field and driving merchant sign-ups, to activating new credit users daily, to hitting ₦1B+ disbursement goals monthly this role demands someone who doesn’t just build a plan, but lives it.
  • To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 5 years of successful credit sales management experience, demonstrate a proven track record of surpassing targets, and exhibit a strong ability to mentor and motivate a high-performing sales team.

Responsibilities

Disbursement Ownership

  • Deliver monthly disbursement targets across all retail credit products credit card, BNPL, and personal credit lines.
  • Track disbursement performance daily and take decisive action to bridge gaps.

Retail Channel Activation

  • Identify, develop, and scale high-converting retail distribution channels (offline, online, or merchant-integrated).
  • Directly engage and activate new merchants or customer-facing partners when required.

Lead Generation & Conversion

  • Build and execute end-to-end lead generation strategies for retail credit users.
  • Optimize conversion funnels through insight-driven testing, customer feedback, and market behavior.

Merchant Engagement & Acquisition

  • Identify key retail merchant opportunities and onboard them into CredPal’s credit ecosystem.
  • Support merchants to drive customer awareness and product adoption.

Portfolio Quality & Repayment

  • Ensure credit disbursed are to creditworthy customers through proactive screening and behavior monitoring.
  • Monitor repayment performance and collaborate cross-functionally on delinquency mitigation initiatives.

Data-Driven Execution

  • Maintain and analyze dashboards for KPIs such as disbursement volume, active users, credit utilization, and repayment rates.
  • Use insights to inform strategic decisions and field interventions.

Market Intelligence

  • Stay informed on retail lending trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior.
  • Proactively adapt strategies based on evolving market realities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with credit risk, operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure end-to-end efficiency in credit disbursement and usage.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Deliver regular performance reports with insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Forecast monthly sales and disbursement projections with accuracy and accountability.

KPIs / Success Metrics

  • Monthly Retail Credit Disbursement Volume
  • Number of Active Disbursed Users
  • Daily/Weekly Disbursement per Channel
  • Lead Conversion Rate (Onboarding → Disbursed)
  • PAR (Portfolio at Risk) below benchmark
  • Credit Repayment Collection Rate

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in retail lending, consumer credit, or fintech sales leadership.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding credit disbursement targets.
  • Strong understanding of credit sales, merchant financing, and disbursement mechanics.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of Nigeria’s lending landscape.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, disbursement platforms, and digital onboarding flows
