Role Overview:
- The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, revenue cycle management, operational efficiency, and adherence to financial controls.
- This role is pivotal in driving timely and precise financial processes, inventory management, and credit management while maintaining a safe and process-oriented working environment.Â
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales reports, profit and loss statements, and performance reports.Â
- Deliver monthly sales reports according to scheduleÂ
- Achieve a 98% accuracy rate in financial reporting.Â
Revenue Cycle Management
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing with 99% accuracy, completing invoices within 12Â hours of receiving documentation.Â
- Post 98% of inflows received within the same week of receipt.Â
GL Account Reconciliation
- Reconcile Goods Delivered Not Invoiced (GDNI)/Accruals accounts with 95%Â accuracy and timeliness.Â
Operational Efficiency
- Provide accurate key partner reports within 10 days of month-end with 98% accuracy.Â
- Submit weekly Prospective Financial Information (PFI) Monitoring Reports by the end of each week.Â
- Ensure timely close out of all Performa Invoice to final invoicesÂ
Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory reports with 95% accuracy, ensuring biannual stocktake variance remains below 5%.Â
- Maintain cost profile of all inventory items for commercial and Tender preparation.Â
Process Improvement
- Propose a minimum of two process improvement suggestions per quarter.
- Attend all weekly meetings of the Product Lines noting all comments on process improvements relating to Finance.Â
Finance Controls
- Adhere to financial policies and controls, ensuring 0% fraud and defalcation.Â
- Assist in Annual financial audit, clearing of MLP, tax audits and other regulatory complianceÂ
- Partake in half yearly/yearly stock take and reconciliationÂ
Credit Management
- Monitor and improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), maintaining it below 90 days for active receivables.Â
- Assist in credit control activities of the companyÂ
- QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment)Â
- Adhere to all QHSE standards and guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.Â
- Participate in QHSE training sessions and stay updated on best practices for maintaining a safe workplace ensuring zero-incident and accident rate.Â
- Actively participate in Unsafe Act/Unsafe Condition (UAUC) reporting.Â
- Other tasks as may be assigned.Â
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Â
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.Â
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles.Â
- Proficiency in accounting and SAGE software, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis.Â
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Bi, Excel, Power Point & Word)Â
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, inventory management, and credit control.Â
