Kore Global, a feminist, women-led social impact advisory firm and certified B Corp, is currently seeking a Senior Consultant, Gender & Health for a full-time, fixed-term contract (24 months). This fully remote role offers a competitive remuneration package ranging from $95,200 to $128,800 CAD. The successful candidate will operate primarily within PST/EST/GMT time zones, with occasional flexibility to collaborate across other regions.

Role Summary

The Senior Consultant will contribute to a strategic partnership with a major donor to strengthen gender integration in global health investments. This position will focus on enhancing the gender responsiveness of health systems through technical assistance, conceptual framework development, evidence generation, and the promotion of gender-intentional tools and practices.

Candidates must bring deep technical expertise in gender and health, a proven record of converting analysis into actionable outcomes, and experience delivering high-quality consultancy in global health contexts.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Advisory Services
The consultant will deliver tailored, high-impact gender integration support through Kore Global’s Gender & Inclusion (G&I) Helpdesk. This includes:

  • Conducting technical reviews of investment proposals and participating in co-design sessions to embed gender-responsive approaches across health programming.
  • Developing and refining tools such as checklists, guidance notes, and templates to standardize gender integration.
  • Leading the development of gender and inclusion metrics that align with health outcomes, ensuring consistency across portfolios.

Learning and Thought Leadership
The consultant will co-create and implement a G&I learning agenda that emphasizes practical, evidence-informed strategies for achieving equitable health outcomes. Responsibilities include:

  • Synthesizing learning from desk reviews and stakeholder engagements into thematic briefs.
  • Promoting uptake of findings through learning digests and performance feedback loops.

Capacity Building and Relationship Management
A central component of the role involves building strategic relationships and enhancing internal capacities, including:

  • Supporting partner teams in applying gender frameworks during investment planning, budgeting, and MEL (monitoring, evaluation, and learning).
  • Designing and facilitating training sessions to promote feminist-informed health interventions.

Organizational Learning and Collaboration
The consultant will contribute to Kore Global’s internal strategy development and refinement of technical delivery methods across health priority areas such as primary health care (PHC), maternal and child health and nutrition (MCHN), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and digital health. They will model feminist values in all engagements, fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in consultancy roles involving gender and global health.
  • Strong background in managing donor relationships, particularly with philanthropic organizations.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in public health, gender studies, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in applying gender frameworks to public health programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
  • Proficiency in designing and adapting gender metrics and tools, including both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible and actionable outputs for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with facility-level health monitoring, digital health innovations, and performance management models.
  • Experience working directly with movements or organizations in the Global South.
  • Knowledge in adjacent thematic areas, such as gender-based violence or women’s economic justice.
  • Business development experience, including proposal writing and client engagement.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English is an asset.

  • Confident project and people management capabilities.
