Senior Sales Manager

Role Summary
- We are seeking a commercially astute, execution-strong Senior Sales Manager to work alongside the National Sales Manager, anchoring field sales execution, Go-To-Market architecture, and commercial analytics.
- This role is central to driving performance across our sales networks including dealership, MFIs, direct sales teams, and strategic partnerships.
- You will be blending strategy, operational leadership, analytical capability and behavioral insight to fuel Salpha’s growth.
- The ideal candidate will be experienced in multi-channel sales management, adept at leveraging technology and data-driven insights for decision-making and skilled in leading diverse teams across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Go To Market Execution:
- Co-develop and implement the company-wide Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy across all channels ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Drive territory mapping, outlet rollouts, and market activation playbooks
- Lead pilot tests for pricing, bundling, and promotion strategies across new products
- Work with the NSM to ensure consistent achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas across all regions and Channels.
Field Sales Leadership & Accountability:
- Supervise regional sales teams and outlet managers to meet monthly targets
- Establish field performance systems (daily check-ins, agent logs, inventory audits)
- Ensure last-mile availability, stock hygiene, and return/warranty loop closure
- Implement standardized processes, performance tracking systems, and reporting frameworks.
Data Analytics & Market Intelligence:
- Track sales KPIs, inventory flows, MFI repayments, and conversion rates
- Commission and interpret market intelligence reports (pricing trends, competitor benchmarks, behavioral insights, sales analytics, forecasting, and reporting), providing actionable insights to management.
- Lead A/B testing and translate findings into GTM adjustments
Team Development & Culture Building:
- Train, coach, and performance-manage field teams to strengthen sales capabilities.
- Champion a “data-informed field discipline” culture.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity within the sales team.
- Work with the HR department in recruitment and onboarding of sales staff to ensure they have the product knowledge and sales skills required for success.
Technology & Process Optimization:
- Leverage sales analytics tools, sales dashboards, and digital platforms to enhance sales visibility and decision-making.
- Monitor key metrics and identify areas for process improvement.
- Recommend and implement technology-driven solutions to improve customer engagement and sales efficiency.
Stakeholder Management & Partnerships:
- Maintain strong relationships with dealers, MFIs, distributors, and institutional partners to ensure sustainable growth.
- Work closely with the marketing communication team to design campaigns that align with sales objectives.
- Engage with internal stakeholders (finance, logistics, Engineering and production and customer service) to ensure smooth execution of sales strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
- Certifications in Sales Management, Data Analytics, or GTM Strategy are advantageous
- 8–12 years in B2C/B2B2C sales leadership roles
- Proven GTM execution experience in FMCG, solar, telecoms, fintech, or field-heavy start-ups
- Demonstrated success scaling field teams in multiple geographies
Skills:
- Strong understanding of route-to-market (RTM) strategies and sales channel optimization
- Proficiency in sales analytics, CRM systems, Google Sheets, or BI dashboards
- Strong leadership presence, coaching orientation, and excellent communication skills.
- High adaptability in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Excellent Relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to connect day-to-day sales activities with the company’s overarching financial and strategic goals.
- Ability to travel across field locations.
